Shandur Polo Festival Begins at World’s Highest Polo Ground

Shandur: Shandur Polo Festival 2026 has begun at the world's highest polo ground. The festival is being organized with the collaboration of the governments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, along with the Pakistan Army. According to Radio Pakistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi inaugurated the Shandur Polo Festival 2026. The Governor described the holding of the Shandur Polo Festival as important for promoting national unity, cultural harmony, and tourism. On the first day of the festival, an exciting match was witnessed between the traditional rivals, Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan teams. Spectators greatly appreciated the outstanding performance of both teams and thoroughly enjoyed the contest. A captivating paragliding demonstration was also presented during the event, which attracted the full attention of the audience. The Festival will continue for three days, with tourists and sports enthusiasts participating in the event from across the country.
