Lahore: Renowned Pakistani folk and stage singer Tariq Tafu passed away in Lahore after a brief illness. He was son of renowned musician and Tabla-nawaz Altaf Hussain Tafu. Tariq Tafu was widely known for his distinctive voice and contributions to Punjabi folk music. According to Radio Pakistan, Tariq Tafu remained associated with the music industry for several decades and earned popularity through several hit songs, including the famous 'Lahore Lahore Aey.' Following the news of his death, artists, political and social figures, and fans expressed deep sorrow and paid tribute to his services to Pakistani music. After the funeral prayer, Tariq Tafu was laid to rest at Shahenshah graveyard in Lahore. A number of renowned showbiz personalities, including singer and musician Sahir Ali Bagga, singer Waris Baig, folk singer Abbas Ashiq Jatt, folk and pop singer Malku, qawwal Ustad Nadeem Bakshi Salamat, and singer Tanveer Afridi, among others, attended the funeral prayer.
