Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has requested for a meeting with Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf to discuss the resignations of its party lawmakers.
The National Assembly spokesman said former Chief Whip of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Malik Aamir Dogar contacted the Speaker in this regard and sought time from him for the meeting.
Welcoming this gesture of the PTI leader, Raja Pervez Ashraf stressed the need of continuity of dialogue among political leaders and parties.
The Speaker said there is a clear procedure in Constitution and Rules of Business of the National Assembly regarding confirmation of resignations of MNAs and this procedure would be followed in letter and spirit.
Meanwhile, Malik Aamir Dogar said a PTI delegation, comprising senior party leaders, including Vice Chairperson Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Pervez Khattak, and some other senior leaders want to discuss the issue of resignations of the party’s MNAs with the Speaker.
