PM vows to promote Pak-Turkiye trade ties


Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed Pakistan’s desire to promote trade relations with Turkiye.

Talking to a high level delegation of leading Turkish businessmen led by Turkiye’s Minister for Customs and Trade Omer Bolat in Islamabad, he said steps are being taken on a priority basis to bring the trade volume to five billion dollars annually as was agreed with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The Prime Minister directed the authorities concerned to provide all kinds of facilities to Turkish investors for investment in Pakistan.

Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan and Turkiye have ideal fraternal relations spanning centuries. He reiterated his invitation to President Recep Tayyip Erodgan to visit Pakistan saying Pakistani people are awaiting his visit.

Turkiye’s Minister for Customs and Trade said the current investment volume of fifty four Turkish investment companies in Pakistan is 3.5 billion dollars.

The Turkish investors expressed satisfaction over political and economic stability in Pak
istan.

The Turkish delegation thanked the Prime Minister for Pakistan’s assistance to the affected Turkish people in the 2023 earthquake.
