PM directs to launch operation against illegal encroachments on CDA lands

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has directed to launch an indiscriminate operation against illegal occupation and encroachments on the lands of Capital Development Authority, including Margalla National Park.

He gave these directions while chairing a meeting in Islamabad on Monday regarding the administrative matters, law and order situation and anti-narcotics measures in the federal capital.

Regarding the traffic mess in Islamabad, the Prime Minister advised to take immediate measures to end parking and traffic issues in the federal capital being caused by car showrooms, established in different parts of the city.

He instructed to formulate a comprehensive plan to setup a Car City for sales and purchase of motor vehicles in Islamabad.

The Prime Minister said an effective strategy should be evolved to reduce traffic pressure in Islamabad.

The meeting was informed that 160 more buses are arriving soon for Islamabad’s public transport system, which will further improve the public transport in the capital city.

The Prime Minister said a central digital system should be established for the registration of vehicles in Islamabad and other cities of the country.

The Prime Minister said fitness certificate to old vehicles should be issued as per international standards of climate change.

He said issuance of driving licenses should be made transparent and effective throughout the country.

Regarding the law and order situation in the federal capital, the Prime Minister directed the Islamabad Police to evolve an effective strategy to ensure protection of the residents of Islamabad Capital Territory.

The meeting was informed that e-challan system has been fully enforced in Islamabad with the help of modern technology and Safe City cameras.

Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar also directed the police authorities to take strict legal action against those involved in selling narcotics and drugs in the educational institutions and their surroundings.

He instructed the authorities concerned to take special measures to ensure protection of schools.

The Prime Minister said protection of citizens’ lives and properties is the fundamental responsibility of the state.

He advised to take necessary steps on priority basis for the establishment of Dolphin Force in Islamabad.

The meeting was informed that considerable decrease has come current year in the crime ratio.
