PM Directs Independent Third-Party Audit of Customs Bonded Warehouses

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed an independent three-year third-party audit of customs bonded warehouses across the country. He made this directive while chairing a meeting concerning the Federal Board of Revenue in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that there should be no room for any irregularity within customs bonded warehouses. He stressed that strict actions must be taken against any officials found involved in irregular or illegal activities, in compliance with the law.

During the meeting, attendees were briefed on the current status of customs bonded warehouses and the measures being taken for Inland Revenue enforcement. It was highlighted that, following the Prime Minister's instructions, a physical stock verification of customs bonded warehouses is set to be conducted nationwide.

In addition, the meeting detailed that steps are being implemented to strengthen the licensing and security of these warehouses, ensuring better governance and transparency across the board.
