Pakistan, Saudi Arabia agree to exchange expertise for rapid economic growth


Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to exchange expertise to facilitate rapid economic growth by making the energy sector more efficient.

The understanding to this effect was reached during a meeting between Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari and Saudi Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al-Saud in Riyadh today.

During the meeting, the two sides also decided to continue the exchange of experts of the energy sector and other key economic sectors within their countries in order to arrive at a clear strategy of improving Pakistan’s energy landscape.

Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari also held delegation level talks with Saudi Assistant Minister for Electricity Affairs, Nassir Al-Qahtani, and Deputy Minister for Policies and Strategic Planning Nayef Almusehel in Riyadh.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged detailed information regarding the landscape of the power sector in their respective countries.

The two sides agreed to mutually cooperate in future in o
rder to benefit each other on the basis of expertise of both the countries.

Pakistan intends to enhance efficiency in its policy making processes by drawing on the experience of Saudi Arabia.
