In a distressing development that has sent shockwaves across the cricketing fraternity, Multan Sultans’ owner and Managing Director (MD), Alamgir Khan Tareen, has committed suicide.
According to media reports, Alamgir Tareen ended his life by shooting himself in the head with a gun in Lahore. Alamgir Tareen was the brother of renowned industrialist and entrepreneur, Jehangir Khan Tareen, and uncle of Ali Khan Tareen.
Alamgir Tareen gained prominence as a prominent entrepreneur in South Punjab, where he successfully managed one of the nation’s largest water purification facilities.
Having obtained his undergraduate degree from the esteemed University of California, Berkeley, Tareen went on to complete his Masters at the prestigious Yale University.
As stated on the official website of the Sultans, Tareen was an ardent sports enthusiast with a strong desire to establish a robust platform for aspiring athletes. His aim was to provide them with exceptional resources for honing their skills and achieving their full potential.
Furthermore, Tareen played a pivotal role in spearheading the franchise’s data-driven methodology, which has been instrumental in their success.
