Islamabad Aims to Become Pakistan’s First Plastic-Free City

Islamabad:Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has expressed confidence that Islamabad will become Pakistan's first plastic-free city.

According to Radio Pakistan, Chaudhry made this statement during a meeting with a delegation from the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Traders Association.

He emphasized that eliminating plastic would not only enhance the beauty of the federal capital but also significantly reduce environmental pollution. Chaudhry urged citizens to avoid using plastic bags and to adopt environmentally friendly alternatives.

The minister further mentioned that the Plastic-Free Islamabad campaign would succeed with the cooperation and suggestions of the business community and citizens. The Traders Association has assured its full support for the government's measures to make Islamabad a plastic-free city.
