Govt constitutes committee to switch 3 power plants to Thar coal

Federal Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Leghari has constituted a committee in order to shift three IPPs to Thar coal from imported coal. The Additional Secretary Power Division will chair the committee. The committee will present its technical and fiscal analysis for converting plants into Thar coal after the consultation with all stakeholders. It will also examine the logistics for the transportation of coal from mines to project site. The committee will provide recommendations and an implementation plan to government based on the findings of information studies. Source: Radio Pakistan
