ECP decides to form committee to probe Rawalpindi Commissioner’s allegations


The Election Commission of Pakistan has decided to constitute a high-level committee to investigate allegations leveled by the Rawalpindi Commissioner regarding the general elections.

The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the Election Commission held in Islamabad today. The meeting was attended by esteemed members of the Commission.

Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja and Punjab Election Commissioner Babar Hasan Bharwana, participated in the meeting online.

It was decided in the meeting that the committee, to be headed by a senior member of the Election Commission, will record statements from Returning and Deputy Returning Officers of Rawalpindi.

The committee is tasked with submitting its report to the Election Commission within three days.
