Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, accompanied by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, conducted a meeting with senior leaders of the Pakistan Peoples Party in Islamabad today. The meeting was convened as part of the routine pre-budget consultations in preparation for the upcoming Federal Budget. According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions resulted in a unanimous agreement to propose to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that the Budget for the fiscal year 2026-2027 be announced on Wednesday. The consultations centered around critical issues such as current expenditure and development spending priorities, including the Public Sector Development Programme. Broader economic priorities were also addressed, focusing on fiscal sustainability, public welfare measures, development initiatives, and inclusive growth for the fiscal year 2026-2027. The meeting was attended by prominent figures including Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, MNA Syed Naveed Qamar, Senator Sherry Rehman, Se nator Saleem Mandviwala, Sindh Irrigation Minister Jam Khan Shoro, Minister of State for Finance and Railways Bilal Azhar Kayani, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Federal Secretary Finance Imdadullah Bosal, Chairman FBR Rashid Mahmood Langrial, and other senior officials from the relevant ministries and departments.
