Senate of California has passed a consensus resolution to commemorate the history of positive Pakistani-American relations on the occasion of forthcoming Independence Day of Pakistan. The landmark resolution was presented by State Senator Josh Newman titled as 'Pakistani-American Relations.' It noted that Pakistan's history has inspired, supported, and assisted nations around the world in their pursuit of liberty, justice, and equality. It acknowledged that Pakistani Americans have become an integral part of mainstream American society and have made important contributions in the fields of finance, technology, law, medicine, education, sports, media, the arts, the military, and government, as well as other areas. Pakistan's Consul General in Los Angles Asim Ali Khan said the resolution adopted by California Senate underscores enduring bonds of friendship between Pakistan and the United States.
