Maryam Invites US Businessmen to Invest in Punjab StartUp Fund

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has invited US businessmen to invest in the Punjab StartUp Fund, highlighting the province's growing potential in technology and innovation.

According to Radio Pakistan, Maryam Nawaz, while speaking to a US business delegation in Lahore, emphasized the importance of US collaboration in technology transfer and technical support to accelerate economic growth in Punjab. She outlined the government's ambitious goals, which include producing 1.5 million frontier technology graduates, with a focus on gender inclusion by ensuring 40% of them are women. Additionally, the government plans to support 1,200 startups and provide opportunities for 32,000 interns.

Maryam Nawaz also mentioned that Punjab hosts 20 Special Economic Zones and two Export Processing Zones. These zones are backed by a one-window investment facilitation system and a digital platform designed to simplify business approvals, making it easier for investors to navigate the regulatory landscape. Furthermore, she highlighted the role of the Special Investment Facilitation Council, which aids in expediting investment-related matters at the federal level.
