Islamabad: An aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility is being established in Pakistan in accordance with the standards of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
According to Radio Pakistan, private aviation services provider Nortek is setting up this specialized facility at Islamabad International Airport. This initiative aims to enhance the local aviation industry's capability by providing maintenance and repair services for Airbus A318, A319, and other aircraft within the country.
The establishment of this facility signifies a step forward in reducing dependency on foreign MRO services, potentially leading to cost savings and increased operational efficiency for airlines operating in Pakistan. By adhering to EASA standards, Nortek ensures that the facility will meet international safety and quality benchmarks, positioning Pakistan as a competitive player in the global aviation maintenance sector.
