PM and Azerbaijan President Discuss Regional Developments and Bilateral Relations

Azerbaijan: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev engaged in a productive telephonic conversation, during which Azerbaijan expressed deep appreciation for Pakistan's successful initiatives to mediate a ceasefire between Iran and the U.S.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Azeri President highlighted that Pakistan's efforts reflect the international community's trust and confidence in its leadership. The discussion also covered regional developments, with a particular focus on ongoing peace efforts in the Middle East.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended his best wishes to President Aliyev for the success of the upcoming World Urban Forum set to take place in Baku next week. He expressed confidence that the Forum, under Azerbaijan's leadership, would significantly contribute to advancing the global urban development agenda. Although he is unable to attend due to pressing commitments, Shehbaz Sharif assured that Pakistan would be effectively represented at the Forum.

Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and reiterated their commitment to deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, energy, and cultural exchanges. They agreed to maintain close contact and looked forward to meeting in person later this year.

During the conversation, Prime Minister Sharif extended an invitation to President Aliyev for an official visit to Pakistan at his earliest convenience. The exchange was marked by warm greetings and reaffirmed the strong fraternal bonds of friendship between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
