Pakistan: Pakistan has categorically rejected the CBS News report regarding the presence of Iranian aircraft at Nur Khan Airbase as misleading and sensationalized.
According to Radio Pakistan, Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi stated that such speculative narratives seem designed to undermine ongoing efforts for regional stability and peace. The spokesperson emphasized that during the ceasefire and initial round of Islamabad Talks, aircraft from Iran and the United States arrived in Pakistan to facilitate the movement of diplomatic personnel, security teams, and administrative staff related to the talks.
Tahir Andrabi clarified that while formal negotiations have not resumed, senior-level diplomatic exchanges continue. The Iranian Foreign Minister's visits to Islamabad were facilitated through existing logistical and administrative arrangements. The Iranian aircraft currently in Pakistan arrived during the ceasefire period and are unrelated to any military contingency or preservation arrangement, Andrabi noted.
He further asserted that suggestions to the contrary are speculative, misleading, and disconnected from the factual context. Andrabi reiterated that Pakistan has consistently acted as an impartial and responsible facilitator, supporting dialogue and de-escalation efforts. Pakistan remains committed to promoting dialogue, reducing tensions, and advancing regional and global peace, stability, and security.
