Pakistan and Uzbekistan Set Ambitious $1 Billion Trade Target: Uzbek Envoy


Islamabad: Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, has announced that Pakistan and Uzbekistan are committed to achieving a bilateral trade volume target of one billion dollars. Talking to Uzbek media, he highlighted the active collaboration between the two nations to enhance mutual trade.



According to Radio Pakistan, both countries are implementing joint measures to boost trade exchanges. The ambassador mentioned that efforts are underway to expand the export and import structure, focusing on sectors such as food, textile, and electrical products. He emphasized the development of efficient cargo transportation routes and the optimization of customs processes in partnership with major transport and logistics companies.



Alisher Tukhtaev further stated that Uzbekistan aims to increase its agricultural exports to Pakistan, particularly in the domains of fruits, vegetables, grain products, and textile products. Additionally, he recognized the significant potential of Pakistan’s pharmaceutical, textile, construction materials, and information technology sectors for the Uzbek market.
