Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has reaffirmed the government’s unwavering resolve to further strengthen Pak-China relations. He was addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Thursday in connection with the Chinese Lunar New Year and Spring Festival.
According to Radio Pakistan, Attaullah Tarar stated that the friendship between Pakistan and China is deeper than the oceans, sweeter than honey, and taller than the Himalayas. He emphasized that the current government is the custodian of this time-tested friendship and is committed to transferring this bond to future generations.
Highlighting the deep-rooted bilateral ties between the two countries, the Minister expressed Islamabad’s full support for President Xi Jinping’s One Belt, One Road initiative, which aligns with Pakistan’s own economic interests. He noted that China has consistently supported Pakistan during difficult times.
Earlier in the ceremony, Minister for Maritime Affairs Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh conveyed the government’s desire to relocate Chinese industry to Pakistan, which he believes will be beneficial for both countries. The Minister emphasized Pakistan’s focus on imparting technical education to the youth to facilitate businesses in a manner similar to China.
Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh also highlighted Pakistan’s significant potential in the maritime sector, stating the government’s determination to further develop the Gwadar Port through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
