Govt to Empower Youth Through Different Initiatives: PM


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the government of Pakistan is fully committed to empowering the youth through a range of transformative initiatives. Addressing the inaugural session of the Commonwealth Asia Youth Alliance (CAYA) Summit, he highlighted the flagship “Youth Programme,” which has empowered millions across Pakistan, not just in Punjab.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized the critical role of youth in the future of Commonwealth nations, noting that they make up more than sixty percent of the population. He stressed the importance of providing vigorous training and modern technology to equip young people to develop a peaceful, progressive, and prosperous future.



Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to the Commonwealth, describing it as an important platform for building consensus and partnerships in the face of global challenges. He acknowledged the country’s youth bulge and underscored the importance of offering platforms and opportunities for young people to contribute actively to nation-building and policy-making.



The Prime Minister detailed various initiatives such as the “Punjab Education Endowment Fund,” which offers stipends for high achievers, and the expansion of “Daanish Schools” to regions including Islamabad and remote areas like Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. He highlighted the distribution of approximately six hundred thousand laptops to high achievers under the Youth Programme, aimed at facilitating educational advancement.



In his concluding remarks, the Prime Minister encouraged the youth to dream big, act courageously, and work diligently, emphasizing their role as pioneers of the future. He administered the oath to the newly elected body of the National Youth Council and distributed awards to high achievers from various fields.
