Islamabad: Pakistan has called for supportive global policies to enable cash-strapped developing countries to low-cost energy transition. Addressing an event in connection with the ‘International Day of Clean Energy’ at UN Headquarters in New York, Deputy permanent representative of Pakistan to the UN Ambassador Usman Jadoon said developing countries with limited fiscal space are unable to invest in costly energy projects without enhanced access to finance.
According to Radio Pakistan, the call for concessional financing comes as many developing nations struggle with fiscal constraints that hinder their ability to transition to clean energy. Ambassador Jadoon emphasized the need for increased financial support and global policy reforms to facilitate these countries in adopting sustainable energy solutions. He highlighted the importance of making clean energy projects more affordable and accessible to ensure a successful energy transition worldwide.
