ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing relationships with friendly nations, highlighting the flow of investments into Pakistan as a testament to these efforts. In a recent interview with PTV, Tarar pointed out the positive shift in Pakistan’s diplomatic and business landscape, emphasizing the country’s openness to the world.
According to Radio Pakistan, Tarar expressed concern over the previous international isolation faced during PTI’s tenure and reiterated the current government’s dedication to improving Pakistan’s global standing. He detailed the country’s journey towards economic stability, attributing it to the support from international allies. The Minister highlighted productive meetings between Pakistan’s Prime Minister and leaders from Saudi Arabia and Qatar, indicating significant progress in bilateral relations.
Tarar confirmed that several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with friendly countries are in the pro
cess of being implemented, with work already underway on multiple agreements with Saudi Arabia. He also mentioned the advancement of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) into its second phase and a marked increase in investments from the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. Additionally, Pakistan’s improved ties with Russia and interest from central Asian countries in trade enhancement were noted.
The Minister emphasized the Vietnamese Prime Minister’s enthusiasm to bolster trade and business relations with Pakistan. Addressing security concerns, Tarar reaffirmed the government’s determination to eradicate terrorism and expressed readiness to support counter-terrorism efforts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He highlighted Pakistan’s successful hosting of the SCO Summit as evidence of international confidence in the country’s capabilities.
