Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Murtaza Solangi, has urged the media to take the Election Commission’s stance when reporting on election-related news and verify facts.
In a post on social media’s platform X, he emphasized the importance of reporting accurate information and urged the media to cross-check any doubts with the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The Minister also shared a press release from the commission, labeling a 92 News story on ECP’s SMS 8300 service as incorrect.
The press release clarified that the final list of polling stations is published 15 days before the elections, allowing voters to access their block code, constituency number, polling station, and other details.
The commission added that preliminary lists of polling stations for constituencies are currently available, and voters can submit objections and suggestions to the District Returning Officer until Thursday.
The District Returning Officer will make decisions by the 17th of this month, with final lis
ts of polling stations set to be published 15 days before the elections. Voter details will be accessible on SMS 8300 after the final lists are released.
Additionally, the ECP informed voters intending to cast postal ballots to obtain necessary information from the electoral rolls at the offices of the respective District Election Commissioners.
